Let's Go Motorhomes

Caves District | WA

One of the less well known tourist sites in Australia is the Caves District in WA, featuring one of the most extensive limestone cave systems in the world. The area is also known as the Cape to Cape region, due to the series of promontories which run from Cape Neutraliste down the coast to Cape Leeuwin. Or you could go with the Margaret River Wine Region, another name the region goes by.

The term “something for everyone” is oft used and often not true. Here it is.

There are 75 top class surf breaks along the coast, around 300 ancient caves for abseilers and cavers and a 135km walking track for bushwalkers. The tranquil Geographe Bay is perfect for fishing, snorkelling or water sports such as skiing or wake boarding. Or just sitting on the beach.

Throw in the swathe of wineries  and fine food restaurants dotted across the district and you truly have a place where most people could find something to keep them occupied!

The Margaret River Pro is in late March, where competitors experience waves up to 6m, so if you are planning a trip around that time, the Pro is worth seeing.
